Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo

This community zoo in Gulf Shores is home to a wide variety of exotic animals, including lions and monkeys, each with its own name and story. Kids can walk through the exhibits to hear the roars and chatter of the animals, and families looking for something extra can book an Animal Encounters session for an up-close visit with some of the friendlier residents. The zoo is open daily from 9am to 4pm, closing only for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day, and sits about six miles from the beach. Groups of 15 or more, including school and daycare groups, can get discounted admission, and teachers and bus drivers are admitted free with reservations.
