About this place
Akron Zoo lets kids get close to more than 1,000 animals from around the world, with a daily schedule of animal experiences that changes throughout the visit. Seasonal extras include behind-the-scenes tours where families can see how animals live and are cared for, plus special events like a fall Halloween experience with treats and activities around the grounds. Younger children can even collaborate on a painting with an animal ambassador to take home. Strollers and wheelchairs are available on site, and during peak season (April 5 to September 30) the zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission runs $11 to $21, kids under 2 get in free, and zoo members are admitted at no charge.
