At Mini Navigators, protecting children’s identity and safety is priority #1. Every decision we make about photos and profiles starts here.
Who may post a photo showing a child
The rule depends on who is posting, because it depends on who is in a position to ask a family’s permission.
Parents and visitors: never. If you upload a photo of a place, no child’s face may be recognisable in it. Someone visiting a playground cannot consent on behalf of another family’s child, so we do not accept those photos at all. Every one is checked by a person before it could go live.
Businesses: only with permission. A venue may show children enjoying its own facilities, but only where a parent or guardian has agreed to it. Each business confirms that permission before uploading.
Official sources. Some listing photos come from city, county and park authority websites, where the public body has already published them itself.
How photos work
Parents can suggest photos of a place. Each one is manually reviewed and approved before it goes live.
When a business claims its listing, community-submitted photos are removed and the business manages its own photos.
Businesses confirm they hold a parent or guardian’s permission for any child whose face can be recognised.
Ask us to take a photo down
If your child appears in a photo on this site and you would rather they did not, tell us and we will remove it. You do not need to give a reason, and we will not ask you to prove anything first.
We keep as little about your child as possible
In your family profile we store only a single first name or nickname for each child, never last names, middle names, or other identifying details. This is deliberate: it means nothing we store can identify a specific child.
Report a concern
If you ever see a photo or listing that raises a child-safety concern, email us at mininavigators@gmail.com and we will act quickly.
