East Idaho Aquarium

East Idaho Aquarium is a nonprofit aquarium in Idaho Falls built around hands-on encounters with sea and land animals rather than just tanks to look at. Kids can feed stingrays, parakeets, and birds by hand, pet starfish and lizards, let Doctor Fish nibble their skin, and even hold Rufus the porcupine. There is a shark tank with an underwater camera visitors can drive themselves, plus exhibits featuring snakes, sloths, and an electric eel that gives a mild shock. Staff zoologists are on hand to answer questions and talk kids through the animals, and the venue also offers field trips, group visits, scout or church group bookings, parties, and animal encounter experiences.
