Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens

Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens sits inside Dunsmuir City Park in far northern California, spread across ten hilly, wooded acres bordering the Upper Sacramento River. Families can walk the meandering trails above the meadow, spot native white dogwood, Shasta lilies and fragrant azaleas, plus planted rhododendrons, hostas, ferns and Japanese maples. There is a playground area and picnic sites near the river, making it easy to combine a stroll through the gardens with outdoor play and a picnic. The park is also near the baseball field and the Alexander Dunsmuir Fountain, and the meadow occasionally hosts community events like a fundraising concert.
