About this place
Staten Island Zoo is an AZA-accredited nonprofit zoo where families can spend a day viewing animal exhibits and enjoying grounds designed for young visitors. The on-site Zoo Café serves kid-friendly options like hot dogs, grilled cheese, veggie burgers and plant-based nuggets, plus snacks and ice cream, and there are picnic tables under a covered pavilion for families who bring their own food. Water refill stations are placed throughout the grounds, so kids can bring a reusable bottle. The zoo partners with KultureCity to support visitors with sensory processing needs and offers age-differentiated visitor guides to help parents and teachers prepare children for their trip. Free parking is available at the Martling Avenue and Clove Road lot, and children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
