Idaho Reptile Zoo

Idaho Reptile Zoo is a family-run rescue and education center in Boise that houses more than 400 reptiles and other animals at any given time, many of them rescued or rehabilitated. Visits are built around hands-on interaction, with staff leading guests through the collection and offering opportunities like turtle feeding and petting some of the animals. The zoo also hosts birthday parties and hands-on educational field trips for kids, with keepers on hand to answer questions and let children get up close with the creatures. It operates out of a 10,000 square foot facility that grew from founder Tyler Messina's home collection of eight animals into its current rescue and education operation.
