About this placeChico Air Museum is housed in a restored World War II Army Air Corps hangar at Chico Municipal Airport, where kids can walk among 19 vintage aircraft ranging from a World War I SPAD XIII to a Russian Antonov AN-2 biplane. Both indoor and outdoor display areas let visitors get close to the planes, including a Consolidated Vultee BT-13 Valiant trainer tied to the local Chico Army Airfield. Beyond the aircraft, exhibits feature classic flight uniforms, historic flight logs, and NASA and space artifacts spread across more than a dozen permanent displays. Families can also catch seasonal events like the annual Fly-In with visiting pilots, an aviation speaker series, and a holiday visit from Santa. Note that on hot days the hangar may close to visitors when temperatures reach 92 degrees or higher, with mandatory closure at 94 degrees.
