About this placeThe Commemorative Air Force operates as a living aviation museum built around one of the largest flying collections of historic military aircraft in the world, known as the Ghost Squadron, with more than 180 vintage warbirds. Families can see restored World War II era planes and other historic military aircraft up close, and some aircraft offer flight experiences where visitors can ride along in a real historic warbird. The organization also runs educational programs covering aviation history and STEM topics aimed at students and the public. Because the CAF operates through dozens of units and locations, the exact aircraft on display, events, and hands-on activities vary depending on which site is visited.
