A museum in Albany housing art, history and cultural material from the Upper Hudson Valley region. The collections span from the late seventeenth century to today and include paintings, sculptures, furniture, textiles, manuscripts and photographs. Permanent displays feature Hudson River School landscape paintings, Ancient Egypt antiquities, and decorative arts. Families can attend tours, hands-on activities and programs designed for different ages. The research library holds around one million documents. During July and August, children aged twelve and under get free entry when accompanied by one adult.
A membership to Albany Institute of History & Art carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
