An art museum in Albany with collections spanning American and European work from the 19th century to the present, plus the largest holding of sub-Saharan African art in the Southeast outside of a university museum. The collection includes masks, sculpture, pottery, textiles, and musical instruments. Families can view rotating exhibitions in the galleries. The museum offers art camps and activities for children in dedicated spaces. Admission is free, and school field trips are also free. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.
A membership to Albany Museum of Art carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
