About this place
The Addison Gallery of American Art is a free museum on the campus of Phillips Academy in Andover, showing a collection of more than 29,000 American artworks spanning the 18th century to today, including paintings, sculpture, photography, and prints. Exhibits rotate through the year, and the gallery works with local schools and students, including organized visits for young students. Families can walk through gallery spaces to see pieces by artists such as Winslow Homer, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Jackson Pollock alongside contemporary work. The museum is closed on some holidays, so it is worth checking hours before a visit.
