Tregembo Animal Park

Tregembo Animal Park is a family-owned zoo in Wilmington that has been run by the Tregembo family since 1952, making it the oldest zoo in southeastern North Carolina. Kids can see over 100 species, including alligators, a Siberian tiger, giraffe, lion, zedonk, prehensile-tail porcupine, snow macaques and a two-toed sloth. The grounds also include a 4,000 square foot gift shop with clothing, toys and nautical items, plus a small museum where children can look at dinosaur bones and fossils. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for kids ages 2 to 11, with children under 2 free, and school or church groups can arrange visits directly with the park. The park runs daily from late March through Labor Day, 10am to 4pm with last admission at 3pm, then weekends only in September and October before closing for winter.
