The Hesperia Zoo

The Hesperia Zoo offers guided walking tours where families get close to exotic animals with an educational guide leading the way. Beyond the standard one-hour tour, kids can book special encounters such as meeting a sloth, feeding a capybara named Sprout, or walking alongside one of the zoo's hoofed residents after a grooming session, an experience suited to ages 9 and up. Seasonal events add variety, including a reindeer-themed holiday tour and a Halloween season program combining a Myths, Legends and Spooky Tales walk with a petting zoo and a Haunted Animal House. Reservations are recommended since tours tend to fill up, though visitors should check ahead since tours have been temporarily paused due to staffing shortages.
