Selfridge Military Air Museum

This museum sits on the active Selfridge Air National Guard Base and preserves the history of Michigan's Air National Guard through military aircraft and related displays. Kids can visit the Aviation Education Center, a large hangar-based classroom space built around STEAM learning, with school field trips and distance-learning programs available. Tours run Tuesdays and Fridays, plus weekends, during the open season from April through October. Because it's on a secure base, visitors must submit an online access request at least ten days before visiting and bring a REAL ID driver's license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance; a buy-one-adult-get-one-child (ages 4-17) ticket deal is offered, and parking is available on Doolittle Avenue across from the museum. A small gift shop sells aircraft models, toys, apparel, and other aviation memorabilia.
