San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo sits in Balboa Park, close to downtown, and lets kids explore animal habitats from around the world. A highlight for families is the Denny Sanford Wildlife Explorers Basecamp, more than three acres of nature play space where children can climb, scramble, jump, and get up close with wildlife. The zoo offers an app with a GPS map for finding exhibits and dining, plus a Guest Services booth on site. Paid parking is $16 per vehicle per day (44 dollars for oversized vehicles), with free parking for members, and there is an ADA shuttle for guests with mobility needs along with a complimentary shuttle from the Inspiration Point lot on select days.
