About this place
River Street Ranch is a small petting zoo in the Los Rios Historic District of San Juan Capistrano, home to horses, guinea pigs, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, a llama, an alpaca and an emu that kids can pet and feed from purchased feed baskets. Younger visitors can take pony rides, ride a kiddy train, or drive an electric mini tractor or excavator, all generally suited to ages 3 to 10. There is also a Western-themed playground with slides, climbing features and a bridge, plus a mining activity where children can pan for gemstones, fossils and other treasures. Pony rides cost $10 per lap, feed baskets are $6, train and tractor rides are $5 each (or 3 for $12), mini excavator rides are $3, and mining bags range from $10 to $30. Two Party Pavilions on site are available for birthday parties and other celebrations.
