About this place
3 Palms Zoo & Education Center is a privately funded rescue zoo and sanctuary based in Townsend, Delaware, caring for a mix of exotic and domestic animals. It bills itself as the state's only rescue zoo and education center, giving families a hands-on look at animal care and rehabilitation rather than a typical zoo visit. The organization also acts as a resource for the public, helping people in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties figure out what to do if they find an injured or orphaned wild animal and connecting them with licensed rehabilitators. Because so much of the site's content centers on rescue stories and animal care behind the scenes, it doubles as an educational stop for kids interested in wildlife and animal rehabilitation.
