A local history museum spread across several restored buildings in Mendota, Illinois. Visitors can see a detailed model train layout of the town in the 1930s housed in the restored 1888 Union Depot, explore photographs spanning 150 years of area life in a converted 1904 library, and view rotating displays of farming tools and equipment in a glass-walled barn replica. Interactive 360-degree digital tours of some buildings are available. The museum focuses on the area's heritage in railroads, farming, industry, and community life.
A membership to Mendota Museum & Historical Society carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
