About this place

A decommissioned aircraft carrier open for tours as a floating museum in Alameda. Families board the ship to explore exhibits about its decades of service from World War II through Vietnam, and learn about the Apollo 11 and 12moon missions, which the Hornet helped recover. The collections include vintage aircraft and Apollo artifacts displayed throughout the vessel. The museum runs educational programs for school groups focusing on science and history, and visitors of at least 48 inches tall can join guided daily tours. Entry is from the pier via the first gangway.

If you are a member here

A membership to USS Hornet Museum carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in these programs.

Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
