“The Craft & Folk Art Museum is losing an ampersand — and gaining a new name: The Wilshire Boulevard museum will go by Craft Contemporary effective immediately. “The new name is an attempt to better reflect what the museum has been emphasizing of late: the intersection of contemporary art, craft and design, as opposed to historical exhibitions or dedicated folk art shows. “The name Craft Contemporary ‘looks brightly to the future and plants us in the now,’ executive director Suzanne Isken said.” Located in an historic building on the heart of Los Angeles’ Museum Row, Contemporary Craft presents exhibitions and programs of craft, folk art and design drawn from international, national and local artists, collectors and museums, as well as from the museum’s own collection. As a true reflection of Los Angeles’ great diversity, the exhibitions and programs presented celebrate numerous cultures around the Globe. Photo provided by Craft Contemporary
A membership to Craft Contemporary carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
