The Chelan County Historical Society, a nonprofit organization, established the Cashmere Museum & Pioneer Village in 1955 with the help of local collector Willis Carey, who wished to preserve his renowned collection of Native American artifacts, antiques, and historical relics, and community leaders like John McDonald. The Museum was incorporated in 1956, opened in 1959, and grew to include the Pioneer Village in 1967, which now features 20 original structures such as a blacksmith shop, a Great Northern Railway caboose, and a one-room schoolhouse. Over the years, it has expanded to a 13,000-square-foot facility housing Native American artifacts, Pioneer objects, geological specimens, and ornithological displays.
A membership to Chelan County Historical Society | Cashmere Museum & Pioneer Village carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
