BK's Reptiles & Zoo is a family-run walk-in zoo in Grover Beach housing more than 50 reptiles, amphibians, insects and Lorikeets. Kids can hand feed live worms to water turtles in the turtle pond, hand feed giant Sulcata tortoises, and walk into the Lorikeet aviary where the birds land on visitors to lick nectar from their hands. A bundle package covering all the feeding experiences plus zoo admission costs $19.99 for ages 3 to 11 and $24.99 for ages 12 and up. The zoo also offers a traveling program bringing 10-15 exotic animals such as snakes, geckos, tarantulas and tortoises to birthday parties, schools, daycares and libraries, with prices starting at $275.
