About this place
Bear Country USA is a drive-through wildlife park set on more than 200 acres of pine forest and meadow about eight miles south of Rapid City. Families stay in their own car for a three-mile route through open enclosures, spotting black bears, elk, reindeer, mountain lions, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, and bison as they roam and climb close to the road. After the drive, admission also covers the quarter-mile Wildlife Walkway for more up-close animal viewing on foot. The park has the Bear's Den Gift Shop and the Cub Grub Snack Shack for food and treats, and tickets can be bought online or at the admissions office.
