About this placeThis Wisconsin zoo and safari park houses more than 1,700 animals across 229 species, giving kids plenty of close-up wildlife encounters. Visitors can hand-feed giraffes at the Giraffe Serengeti, let colorful parakeets land on their hand or shoulder in the Parakeet Encounter, and toss trout pellets into the pond to watch fish swarm. The petting zoo lets children get hands-on with goats, sheep, deer, camel and aoudads using critter food sold in the gift shop or from vending machines. A 30-minute guided Safari Tram ride takes families past kudu, nyala, oryx, wildebeest, eland and zebras, and the park also features snow leopards, tigers, playful gibbons and siamangs, an outdoor amphitheater for animal talks, and African penguins. The zoo operates seasonally, with the current season closing October 4th, 2026.
