About this place
Volcano Art Center is a nonprofit gallery and cultural organization with a main gallery inside Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park and a second campus, Niaulani, in Volcano Village. Families can browse artwork by local Hawaiian artists, including paintings, ceramics, woodblock prints, and textiles, and the surrounding native rainforest offers a scenic walk near the gallery. The center runs Hawaiian cultural programs and workshops, such as painting classes and cultural presentations, that have been offered since 1980 and are open to community participants. The main park gallery is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, while the Niaulani Campus office and gallery keep weekday hours from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
