A museum in East Liverpool, Ohio dedicated to the pottery industry that once dominated the region. The upper galleries display ceramics made locally over the past two centuries, including Rockingham and yellowware from the industry's early days and over 200 pieces of the intricate Lotus Ware produced by Knowles Taylor and Knowles. Downstairs, full-size reconstructions show how pottery was actually made: a workshop where flatware was shaped, a kiln where pieces were fired, and a decorating shop from around 1900. The museum opened in 1980 in a former post office building.
A membership to The Museum of Ceramics carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
