An 11-acre arboretum on the grounds of a museum and historic house in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, open from dawn to dusk. The space holds over 100 tree species from around the world, including two Pennsylvania State Champion trees, and features native plant gardens designed to attract pollinators, plus a reference garden for conifers. Families can walk the grounds, which include a beech grove and various planted beds, and the arboretum hosts a nature education series with presentations on topics like urban agriculture and container gardening.
A membership to The Louise Arnold Tanger Arboretum at LancasterHistory carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
