This is a museum housed in a historic building in Charleston that explores South Carolina's past through interactive exhibits and collections spanning 350 years. Families can explore displays covering the people, places, and movements that shaped the state, from major historical events to everyday stories. The museum occupies the Fireproof Building, a National Historic Landmark designed by Robert Mills and completed in 1827, believed to be the first fireproof building constructed in the United States.
A membership to South Carolina Historical Society carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in these programs.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
