Schroeder Family Exploreum

Schroeder Family Exploreum is a hands-on science and discovery center in downtown Joplin, housed in the building that once served as the Joplin Public Library. Kids explore STEAM-based exhibits covering science, technology, engineering, art, and math, and can also take part in workshops and special events built around curiosity and play. The center is run by the nonprofit Creative Learning Alliance and hosts community programs like an annual STEAM Festival celebrating science and creative careers. It also organizes the Turkey Trot, a Thanksgiving morning fun run that draws over 1,500 participants downtown each year, though this event itself is more of a community fundraiser than an on-site kids' activity.
