About this place

Named a National Historic Landmark in 2012, Meadow Brook Hall is the historic home built by Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of auto pioneer John Dodge, and her second husband, Alfred Wilson. Constructed between 1926 and 1929, it was the center of a country estate that included 1,500 acres, numerous farm buildings, recreational facilities, several residences and formal gardens. In a visionary act of philanthropy, the Wilsons donated their Meadow Brook Farms estate – including their residence, Meadow Brook Hall – and $2 million to Michigan State University in 1957 to form a branch campus in Oakland County…soon to become Oakland University. Today, Meadow Brook is a self-supporting museum and cultural center on the university’s campus that strives to preserve and interpret its buildings and grounds by offering daily tours, unique community programs and exciting events through which visitors young and old may be entertained, educated and inspired by a rich regional history.

Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
