Mandarin Museum shares the stories of Mandarin’s history, culture, and natural resources. Nestled within the community’s historic oak canopy, Mandarin Museum features exhibits on nationally relevant events and people, including the National Historic Landmark Maple Leaf Shipwreck and Harriet Beecher Stowe. Located in the main gallery space, The Untold Story of Black Mandarin sheds light on the community’s historic Black settlements from the 18th century to the present. The Museum is an official partner site along the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor. The Stowe Gallery at Mandarin Museum hosts rotating art exibitions featuring various mediums from 20th and 21st century American artists. Mandarin Museum is located in Walter Jones Historical Park, a 10-acre riverfront park in the City of Jacksonville. Museum docents provide guided tours of the historic buildings located throughout the park, including the 1898 African American Schoolhouse and the 1875 Webb-Jones Farmhouse.
