A local history museum displaying collections that span different periods and aspects of La Porte County life. Visitors can explore fourteen period rooms showing how people lived in earlier times, view more than thirty vintage automobiles in the Kesling collection, and see nearly 850 weapons in the W. A. Jones Collection on the ground floor. The museum hosts seasonal exhibits alongside its permanent displays, and organizes events throughout the year including a historic car show. Before European settlement, the land was part of the Pottawatomie Nation.
A membership to La Porte County Historical Society & Museum carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
