Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens combines a zoo and botanical garden with more than 2,000 animal species and around 1,000 plant varieties for kids to spot along the paths. A newer manatee habitat greets visitors near the entrance, and add-on experiences include a 4D theater, a train, a carousel, animal chats, and limited animal feedings. In warmer months there are splash zones for cooling off. Regular admission runs from about $35.95 to $51.95 for adults and $30.95 to $46.95 for children ages 3 to 12 depending on the ticket type and season, with kids 2 and under free, and the zoo operates as a cashless facility. Day-of tickets stop selling at 4 p.m. with last entry at 4:30 p.m.
