About this placeThis museum occupies two floors inside the Pearson Memorial Center on the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Maquoketa, covering about 22,000 square feet of exhibits on local history. Families can walk through displays of photos and artifacts tracing the story of Jackson County, then pass the Hall of Fame Wall near the gift shop honoring notable local figures. It is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 4 and weekends from noon to 4, closed Mondays and major holidays. Admission is 3 dollars for one site or 5 dollars for both this museum and the Historical Society's other location, with children 10 and under admitted free and members entering at no charge.
A membership to Jackson County History Museum carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
