A museum in Muscatine telling the story of the pearl button industry that made the town famous in the early 1900s. Visitors learn how the town manufactured over a billion mother-of-pearl buttons annually, drawing materials from mussels in the Mississippi River. The museum displays the equipment, techniques, and lives of the immigrant workers and entrepreneurs involved in the trade. Guided tours are available, and families can also explore at their own pace. A gift shop is on site.

Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
