Hallberg Center for the Arts

The Hallberg Center for the Arts is owned and operated by the Wyoming Area Creative Arts Community (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit) in Wyoming, MN. With over a dozen powerful new art exhibits each year (some collaborative, some solo or duo) by regional artists, there is always something new to see. Every other month the center brings in 3 songwriters to perform their original music. The organization also offers classes and workshops for artists and aspiring artists throughout the region. The Wyoming Area Creative Arts Community (WACAC) was formed by an alliance of artists , musicians , performers , photographers , and writers , with a goal of enriching the quality of life in the Wyoming area by facilitating inspirational venues where regional, national, and international cultural activities can illuminate, educate, and entertain. This arts community is committed to celebrating the diversity of the region surrounding Wyoming, MN by offering an array of affordable cultural opportunities and experiences designed to appeal and be accessible to all. In 2012, a small group of about a dozen artists, writers and musicians gathered at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wyoming, MN to talk about the possibility of creating some kind of an arts group that would give support to artists and help create venues for showing off their talents in the area. The next year the group, then with closer to 20 members, incorporated as a non-profit. The year after, they received their 501(c)(3) status and started eyeing an old church building that was for sale, and talked the church congregation into letting them have an art show one night while the members worked to raise money to buy the building. Each month, the artists worked all day to set up a new art exhibit, opened the doors at 6pm, and the people came. At 9pm, they closed the doors and the artists worked to turn the building back into a church until the next month. In 2015, with the help of the Hallberg Family Foundation, B&N Sheet Metal, Rosenbauer America, the First State Bank of Wyoming, and other smaller contributors, the organization raised enough money to pay cash for the church, establishing the Hallberg Center for the Arts. Today, the Hallberg Center for the Arts and the artists of the Wyoming Area Creative Arts Community have over 200 members from across Minnesota and Wisconsin host eleven fine art exhibits a year, offer classes in the arts, and every other month bring in 3 songwriters from across the state to perform their original music in the round.
