An open-air museum in Scandia, Minnesota, preserving the heritage of Swedish immigrants who settled the area. Visitors walk around historic buildings that tell the stories of early Swedish settlers and can relate them to their own family histories. The museum focuses on the culture, art, and agricultural life of these communities. Some buildings are open only during guided tours or public events, though virtual tours and building signs offer information when they are closed. The site operates seasonally from May through December.
A membership to Gammelgården Museum of Scandia carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
