Free or discounted entry for members of AHS Garden Network.
A nature center and botanical garden in the foothills of the Davis Mountains in Fort Davis, devoted to the Chihuahuan Desert ecosystem. Families can walk self-guided trails through 18 acres of gardens featuring cacti, native plants, a pollinator garden and grasses. The center has a cactus museum, a bird blind for wildlife watching, a gift shop and a mining exhibit. Check in at the Powell Visitor Center for maps and trail guides. The site sits at 5,100 feet elevation, so arrive early with sun protection and proper footwear.
A membership to Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center & Botanical Gardens carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
