About this place
Carolina Raptor Center is a zoo built around a three-quarter mile walking trail through the woods of Latta Nature Preserve, where kids can see more than 30 birds of prey up close in their enclosures. Onsite programs and scheduled talks let families learn how the center cares for and rehabilitates raptors, and birthday parties can be booked there too. The trail has uneven terrain, slopes and steps and is not ADA accessible, though benches are placed along the way for resting. Parking is free, picnic tables are available for public use, and families receiving SNAP or WIC benefits can get free general admission for up to four people. It's open daily March through October and Wednesday through Sunday the rest of the year, with trail hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
