About this placeHoused in a 1904 Carnegie Library building that was converted into an arts center in 2003, this Decatur museum lets children view rotating art exhibits on the main level throughout the year. A lower-level education center, the Daikin America Education Center, offers hands-on opportunities for visitors of all ages to learn about and make art. The center also runs workshops and a week-long creative program covering art, music, acting, yoga, and STEAM projects for kids looking to build skills. Admission to view the exhibits is free, though donations are welcome, and it is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM.
A membership to Carnegie Visual Arts Center carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
