Big Red's Barn is an indoor petting zoo in Coeur d'Alene where kids can walk through a temperature-controlled barn and interact with mini-farm animals, exotic mammals, reptiles, and birds at their own pace. Families can feed miniature goats, hold birds, pet bunnies, and get close to reptiles, with staff on hand to help keep the visit safe and comfortable regardless of the weather outside. For an extra fee, certified handlers lead 30-minute private encounters with animals like a sloth, capybara, or giant tortoise. The barn also hosts birthday parties with a rentable party area, feeding packs, and staff support, plus group visits for field trips and other outings, and offers season passes for families who visit often. It is open Thursday through Sunday, 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with last entry at 5:00 PM; strollers and wheelchairs are allowed but discouraged near the animals.
