Big Joel's Safari is a family-run petting zoo and educational park in Wright City, home to more than 65 different animal species ranging from small farm animals to alligators and lemurs. Kids can get close to many of the animals, with some available for touching or feeding, and no two visits are quite the same since exhibits and residents change over time. Schools and groups of 20 or more can book educational field trips, and the park also hosts private and corporate events. Families who visit often can consider a season pass, which covers six people with additional members added for $40 each plus tax. The zoo is privately funded, family owned since 2012, and last admission is 30 minutes before closing.
