Zoológico de Queens

Queens Zoo is run by the Wildlife Conservation Society and focuses on animals from North and South America, from Andean spectacled bears to one of the world's smallest deer species. Kids can walk through the historic domed Aviary, watch Andean bears on their outdoor exhibit, and get hands-on at the farm's petting zoo, home to sheep breeds, curly-haired Mangalitsa pigs, Arabian horses, llamas, Highland cattle, and alpine goats. The zoo also hosts seasonal events, such as a Dia de los Muertos celebration with wildlife theater shows and a farm ofrenda, so it is worth checking the calendar before a visit. A plan-your-visit page outlines safety rules and what to expect for a full day exploring the outdoor and indoor exhibits.
