About this placeWildlife Science Center is a wolf research and education facility that began in 1976 as a captive gray wolf study lab and became a nonprofit in 1991. It cares for Minnesota's largest wolf pack and also houses endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves as part of national species survival programs. Families and school groups can take public tours or join educational presentations that explain wolf biology, conservation, and the center's research work, and the center also offers overnight camping experiences and on-site or offsite programs for kids in preK through 12th grade. Beyond family visits, the center provides hands-on training for wildlife professionals, veterinary students, and animal control officers, reflecting its role as both an educational stop and a working research facility.
