Velocity Island Park is a lakefront water park in Woodland, just outside Sacramento, built around a floating obstacle course with slides, swings, balance beams and trampolines. Kids age 6 and up can book 50-minute sessions on the course, with life jackets provided, while cable wakeboarding on the lake welcomes everyone from beginners to experienced riders. Families can also rent one of the private white-sand beach sites with chairs and a shade palapa for swimming and relaxing by the water. On select evenings the park hosts sunset bonfires with wood-fired pizza and s'mores, and there is lakeside dining at Costa Fuego plus birthday party packages with cabana space. Parking is free, and day passes start at $22.99, though open days and hours shift through the fall so it is worth checking the schedule before visiting.
