Tweetsie Railroad is a Wild West themed amusement park in Blowing Rock built around a ride on a historic steam locomotive, along with classic amusement rides, live entertainment shows, gold panning, and a small Deer Park Zoo. Kids can also catch performances at the Tweetsie Palace or Miners Mountain Theater and play games in the Arcade, which make good backup plans on rainy days. Rides carry height and size restrictions, and any visitor 15 or under must be accompanied by a chaperone aged 21 or older who stays in the park for the whole visit. Leashed pets are welcome in the park but not on the train, rides, chair lift, or in the zoo, and stroller and wheelchair rentals are available for 10 dollars a day. The park currently operates Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm, though hours can shift with the season and weather.
