The Texas Zoo

The Texas Zoo is a nonprofit wildlife park in Riverside Park, Victoria, home to more than 70 species, most native to Texas and some found only in remote spots around the world. Many of the animals are rescues that could not survive in the wild or were surrendered by former owners, giving kids a chance to see creatures like bears, monkeys, parrots, and reptiles up close in natural habitat-style exhibits. The zoo's mission centers on connecting visitors with wildlife and teaching conservation, so exhibits are geared toward hands-on learning about animals and their environments. It's open daily, with hours running 9 am to 4 pm from March through September and 10 am to 4 pm from October through February, and animals start heading to their night houses about 30 minutes before closing.
