The Delaware Contemporary is a non-collecting alternative space. The Delaware Contemporary exhibitions and programs explore the boundaries of contemporary art and reflect cultural, political, religious and social issues. Considered one of the most innovative organizations in the region, The Delaware Contemporary houses seven galleries, twenty-six artist studios, unique gift shop, high tech auditorium, and classroom. The The Delaware Contemporary presents nearly thirty exhibitions each year by local, regional and nationally recognized and emerging artists. Past solo exhibitions have included Gregory Barsamian, Willie Birch, William Cole, Mildred Howard, Christian Marclay, and Peter Zimmermann. Group shows have included works by Gregory Crewdson, Leslie Dill, Sydney Goodman, Mike and Doug Starn, and Kiki Smith.
A membership to The Delaware Contemporary carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
