The mission of the Springfield Museum of Art is to collect, preserve, and exhibit works of art that inspire and educate. Through art exhibitions and art education, the Museum seeks to engage the entire community in the enjoyment and appreciation of the visual arts. Springfield Museum of Art is the only Smithsonian-Affiliate art museum in the state of Ohio. Explore a wide variety of changing exhibitions, discover art by well-known and emerging artists, and engage in art-making in the Interactive Art Lab. The Museum boasts a remarkable permanent collection of American art from the late 1700’s to the present, with a strong focus on Ohio artists. The seven exhibition galleries at the Museum surprise and delight visitors with artwork from the familiar to the fantastic. Art education programs include family days to make and learn about art together, art classes, field trips, workshops, and professional development programs for teachers.
A membership to Springfield Museum of Art carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
